Family time

Yes I am a sad blogger. It has been way too long since I have posted anything. Life comes at you fast and it is even hard to take a breath!

Because of our fast pace life with school, sports, family, holidays, birthdays, calling, I could go on and on and on, but I won't. We decided to vanish for a week. It was UEA break for school and we really wanted to get out of hear. We have some dear friends who have a beach house in Newport beach CA and just our luck it was empty,or so they thought. We packed the fam up and headed to good old CA. When we got there someone was staying at the beach house, but it was ok. We only had to stay in a hotel room for two nights and then spent the rest of the time at the beach house. It was the best time ever. A trip we will never forget!

Took the kids to a restaurant (which we never do),and had to leave right as we got our food because Sarah felt like she was going to throw up. Got to love kids and their timing. Oh and do you think Josh has enough to eat?

We did what we came to do and that was to live at the beach

Five kids in a car for 12 hours!!! That will add a lot of gray hair and take a few years of your life!

I love the beach. It was Josh and Isaac's first time at he beach. Isaac totally loved it, but Josh was totally scared of the water and the waves. It was pretty funny!

Lake Gordon

With life somewhat crazy and the big age gap in the kids we tried to figure out what would be a lot of fun and all could enjoy(including Mom). The vote was a pool. As of right now we have it up and ready to go. The kids have been in it maybe five times. If we could get some warm weather it would be perfect but that seems to be a tall order. Just my luck it will be the coldest summer in history and we wont be able to swim in it at all. So there you have it. I have dubbed this my "white trash summer." Anyone want to join me for a dip?

My Mom

My Mom
My mom is a wonderful example to me. I feel very lucky to be her daughter. Yes I gave her a hard time as a kid. All the naughty things I did and just being a big pain in the butt. I wish I could have figured it out so much sooner, but Mom I want you to know how much I truly appreciate all that you did and do for me. Being a mom myself I am starting to have my eyes open to all the big and little things you did for me. I am sooooo lucky to have a mom like you. You have supported me in everything I have ever did. You have always be there for me and you always seem to know when I need you even though we live so far way. I know I can always call you and you will listen and say the exact thing I need to hear. You are always there to tell me to think straight and not to over react. And we know how good I am at over reacting.
Mom, I want you to know that it is through your example and the women that you are that has helped me and shown me how a mother should be.
I hear many times women say how they wish there was a manual that came with kids. Well there is and it is the wonderful mothers that are in our lives that are there to help us down the tuff roads and to be there when we hit a bump or there to help us back on our feet when we fall down. I couldn't make it as far as I have if it wasn't for my Mom and her love and support. I love you Mom!
Happy Mothers Day!

Bottle addiction

2 and 1, way to old for the bottle!! I think it is time to get the boys off the bottle. When Isaac was one I used the excuse that I was just about to have another baby and it would be way to hard on him. Well there are no more excuses now, only that I think I'm addicted to it more then they are. I must bite the bullet and do it. May the force be with us!!!

The Guinea Pigs

Ever since my kids could talk they have always wanted a pet. We have had our fair share of them. Oh were to begin? We have had three birds, three rats(I DID NOT WANT THEM), a duck, a fish, a hamster, and a dog. The birds, fish hamster, duck died which were very sad days in our house. The rats we let lose in a big field with hopes they would never return. The dog we loved but no one wanted to take care of her so I got stuck with all the work and I don't really like dogs. So I sold her. Lets just say I was very hated for a very long time in our home.

So when the kids(and Greg) kept asking for a pet we did some research and found that guinea pigs were a very good pet for kids. They are not very active and they will just sit in your lap and not move. THEY DON'T BITE and they don't make any noise. They do best in a group so that is why we have three of them. We will see if we can keep them alive for longer than two years(that is our record right now). We got all female so we don't multiply and replenish the earth with guinea pigs. The names are Squeaky(Meg), Selina Gomez(Ben), Skittles(Sarah)

Cracked The Pine Wood Derby Code?

I'm so proud of our Megan. A couple months ago we did a "daddy/daughter" pinewood derby for Activity Days at church, and she came in 1st Place!!! It was truly a miracle for those of you who know how skilled I am in wood-working LOL!

Now that we've cracked the pinewood derby "code" we're gonna take every derby by storm!
Anyway, we are happy that Megan had a good time, and even happier that I had the chance to spend some good daddy/daughter time together...good job Megan! Love Dad.

Chrstmas Eve Ice skating

Every Christmas Eve we like to go out and do a family activity. For the past two years we have gone swimming at our local into pool. This year the Xanthoses invited us to go ice skating with them. We had a lot of fun. This was Isaac's first time going and he has a blast. His skates were tiny and he loved wearing them. He thought he was all that plus a bag of chips. One of the funnest thing was Santa came for a visit and Sarah thought that was the best thing ever.

Happy Birthday Isaac!!

Happy Birthday Big guy! Isaac has made it through another year. We feel lucky that we can say no major injuries and he's as healthy as a whistle. He is trying really hard to be a good big bro, but that seems to be a real challenge for him. He doesn't' seem to like to share his toys with his little bro and is getting pretty familiar with the many corners in our house as he visits them often while he is in time out. We love having Isaac as part of our family. He bring much joy and happiness to our lives. He is a good little boy and loves life. It is fun to watch him grow and discover new things very day. I am so gratful that I can be apart of his wonderful life.

Joshua is 1!!!

Joshua has made it to the ripe old age of one!! Congrats big guy. Josh is such a joy to have in our family. He is full of love, peace, happiness and is a constant reminder to me that life is full of wonderful surprises. I am so grateful that the Lord knows exactly what we need and when we need it. He knew how much we needed Josh and when we needed him. Having babies one year apart is full of it's challenges, but it has way more joys and fun times that out weigh the hard times. Thanks to all for your love, help and support. Here is a small review of the last year of Joshua's first year.
